Ch. 9 Journey to a "New Earth" by Vincent

The Huge Block
“That’s strange, isn’t it?” I say to Sunny, “And I haven’t seen Captain Paul for very long. Oh, it’s GMT15:30, April 13th, 2047 now. We should write our diary immediately for there’s no time…” But the expression on Sunny’s face shows that he isn’t listening to me. “What’s the matter?” I ask. “Look… at… that!” Sunny answers. I look at the direction that Sunny is pointing and I am surprised as well because I saw a large block is swallowing almost everything except light into its body including our spaceship. “It can’t be a black whole because it can’t swallow light. But It’s actually stronger and more powerful than a black whole because everything that are swallowing into it seems moving quickly.” I say. “And… I… don’t… think… that… our… spaceship… can… move… quick… enough… to… avoid… being… swallowed….” Sunny agrees. “We should tell Captain Paul without advance reservation because this situation is really dangerous!” I say so quickly that I don’t think Sunny can exactly understand. So, we run out of our room and before we arrive at Paul’s office, the voice of Paul comes from the microphone which asks us to go back immediately. After we enter our room, the spaceship starts shake violently and we think that we must have been swallowed by that block. But soon we start feel tired and the only thing we are thinking is: Captain Paul is decreasing the Oxygen to force us fall asleep.
Some Time Later
As we finally woke up some time later, the spaceship becomes quiet again. I look at the clock and find that it’s only 17:40, April 13th, 2047 though both Sunny and I think that we have been asleep for a day. After we go out, we find that all the astronauts were asleep during last two hours. Glancing at the window, I find it really surprising that things outside the window are grey and the gravity becomes usual as that on the Earth again. “Oh, my god! Look outside the window! I think that we’re in the atmosphere of a planet. I bet it’s not Earth because the atmosphere is turning green!” I shout to the crowed of astronauts at the corridor when they have found out that Captain Paul disappeared again 30 minutes ago. The spaceship becomes noisy again and I know something bad will happen – we are getting very close to an unknown planet.
