The Damaged Spaceship
“We still have got a few hours to leave Jupiter, and you,
Vincent, ask the managers to find out which parts of the spaceship are damaged
and do a survey about how many astronauts are alive. Oh, by the way, ask them
to fix the engines as soon as possible. I’ll tell them when the craft leave
Jupiter and let them be prepared.” Paul says to me.
I tell all the things that Paul told me several minutes
ago to the leader of managers, and go back to the sitting room to sit with
Sunny by the window.
“My god, it’s really hot by the window, isn’t it?” I say
to Sunny. “Certainly. Look, the… temperature… outside… is…2300… degrees
centigrade. And… our… speed… is… 73023km/h! That’s… quick!” Sunny replies.
We spent almost two hours sitting by the window and
finally we find that both of us are sweating badly. We decide to rest for a
moment. So, we lied down, and we are soon asleep.
We are woken up by some noises. We soon realize that it’s
the captain speaking through the microphone. It is said that we’re getting very
close to the center of Jupiter and the three fourths of the engines are working
to push the spaceship away from Jupiter now.
But Sunny isn’t listening to that. He’s looking at a
corner of the spaceship. “What’s wrong?” I ask. “Have… you… seen… that… black…
shadow… at… the… corner? And… have… you… heard… that… strange… sound?” Sunny
asks me. “What’re you talking about? There’s nothing strange at all at that
simple corner. Maybe you’re a bit tired. Sleep for some time!” I suggested
confusedly. He lies down with a grain of salt.
The spaceship starts shaking again. Things are happening
again this time. But it’s not as fierce as that when we’re going into Jupiter
because the speed is much slower. Storms outside the window are blowing angrily
just like a hungry lion. A lightning goes straight towards our spaceship and
our spaceship is struck by it. “Come on… Hold on… Please!” Paul prayed.
Screams are coming from every parts of sitting room and
finally, an hour later, we see a bouquet of sunshine comes into the window. The
spaceship’s running peacefully again. Everyone’s celebrating this historical
moment except Sunny.
“I… really… wonder… what’s… that… strange… sound. That…
really… sounds… like… another… kind… of… language… which… do… not… belongs… to…
Earth.” Sunny says anxiously.
(To be continued.)
