The Case about a Joke Book2
The joke book wasn’t in the
restaurant. Where could it be? Mike lost it in the restaurant, if nobody took
it, it must still there. But the book
wasn’t there now, so someone must have taken it.
The question is who took Mike’s joke book?I
didn’t know and I couldn’t find out.
Let me think, if I find a book on the
ground, what will I do? I’ll bring it to the bookshop!
I went to the bookshop. The bookshop is too
big. There are a lot of books in it. I saw a salesman.
“Did anyone bring any books
back to this bookshop?”
“Yes,” he said.
“How many books?”
“Two books.”
“What kind of book they are?”
“A story book and a cookbook.”
“Did anyone bring a joke book?”
“No.”
“Thank you for your help,” I said.
I walked to the joke book region and look
for “Joke Stew”. It’s not there!I I was puzzled.
I stated thinking again, I thought and
thought and thought, I was thinking very very hard. The joke book wasn’t in
Mike’s home, wasn’t in the restaurant, wasn’t in the bookshop, or was it?
The case is over. I know where is it now.
I called Mike to come to the book shop. A
few minutes later, Mike came.
I took him to the cookbook region. The joke
book was there.
“How did you find it?”Mike asked.
“You fell over in the restaurant and your
joke book was on the ground yesterday. Someone saw it and took it. He or she
brought it to the bookshop. But when I ask the salesman what kind of book he or
she brought, he said there were a storybook and a cookbook. "Joke Stew: sounds like a cookbook, right? He or she must
have thought it’s a cookbook, but it
wasn’t a cookbook at all!”
“You are a great detective!”
I solved the case. And I can visit Charlie
now.
I can’t wait!
(The End)
