14 A Story of A Mysterious Game and The
Murdering Story 14
The next morning, Athena gave my name card
back to me. The instant of touching my own name card I couldn’t believe it was
true. I checked it three more times to make sure it was really mine and thanked
Athena. On my way back to the classroom, I saw a text on my phone. It was from
Athena. I quickly scanned it:
Dear Laura:
If you are reading
this text, this means you have already gotten your name card. As your teammate, I
must say congratulations to you. At least you will be safe, and nobody,
including Amy can ever hurt you again. I am very grateful for that and you know
I can do anything to ensure your safety. But I had a few troubles now. When Amy
finds out your name card is lost, she will suspect someone had stolen it. And in
that situation, I am the biggest suspect because I am the one who keeps the
name cards. At that time, I will be in great danger. Even though Amy said she
hadn’t found my name card and promised to give it back to me as soon as she
finds them, But one day I truly saw mine laying in her lobby. After that, I
didn’t see it anymore. I guess she left them at home, for safe keeping. This
means, Amy still doesn’t fully trust me. If I want to be safe, I must get my
name card back, so I must win Amy’s trust. It isn’t impossible though, but that
may cost a little time. But I am afraid Amy will find out about this and kill
me before I can earn me name card back. So I have to get my name card quick,
and the only way to do that is using Helena’s special power. Tomorrow after
school, I will gather Amy to the play ground. You guys can hide somewhere and
manipulate her actions. Make her say “I thought for a long time and decided to
give your name card back to you”, and make her give back my name card. If this
succeeds, I can tell her my true identity. Otherwise, I will keep pretending I
am a finder, and you must keep a distance from me then. Thanks♪(・ω・)ノ
Sincerely
Athena
Wow, that’s surely a long text. She must
had edit it last night.
Sure. (*^▽^*) Then
it’s settled. I text to her, and sent a smiley face to her.
Then I suddenly thought of something.
Tomorrow is Tuesday, I had to go to NFLS with Helena. I had weekly courses
there. Besides, I really missed that cute little robot Bobo.
Sorry, Helena and I
have some important thing to do tomorrow after school. Is it ok the day after
tomorrow? : ) I texted so quickly I felt my fingers flying on the phone
screen.
Too bad. Athena answered
me. But it’s ok the day next tomorrow. In
these two days keep a distance from me.
I was so busy chatting, I didn’t even
realize I had reached my classroom. As I remembered no phones in classrooms, I
quickly shut it down and put it in my backpack.
The following Tuesday passed normally. The
class in NFLS is sure fun, but not impressive. I almost forget the important
mission on Wednesday after school if not by Helena’s “kindly” reminding.
“Everything ready?” I asked Helena when I
heard the school ending bell rings.
“Yep.” She answered confidently.
“Let’s go then.” I picked up her hand.
And we headed to the playground together.
We walked straightly to the biggest tree in the playground and hide behind it.
After like 10 minute, as we were tired of standing and waiting, Athena and Amy
appeared.
“It’s time” I ordered to Helena. So she
pressed the button on her phone.
“Finally,” I let out a big breath, “now we
have no excuses to lose.”
I saw Amy and Athena talking excitedly just
now. But suddenly Athena went stiff and didn’t move for a minute. Something
must have got wrong. Then I saw Amy walked away from Athena furiously and was
gone.
I had a strong feeling of failing and ran
to Athena as fast as I could when I made sure we were out of Amy’s sight.
Athena was still standing there; her face was full of disbelief.
“What’s wrong?” I asked her worriedly.
She was quieted for a moment, and burst
into tears: “Everything is wrong.”
“Calm down,” Helena said.
Athena took a big breath and spoke, “When
Helena pressed the bottom, it didn’t work as we planned. Amy didn’t talk about
giving me my name card. So I curious why she had prevent it. And by mistake, I
said it out loud. Now she knew I am on your side and she had find out I gave
your name card back to you. And, and Amy said ‘Good, very good. I will never
give it back to you. Are you afraid of me killing you? No, I’m not going to
kill you so early. I have enough patience and I’m going to wait. I’m going to
wait till the game only remained you and me. And them, I will rip your name
card in front of you. Yes in front of you. You are going to taste the flavor of
betraying a friend, I hate people doing that. You’d better be prepared. Maybe
in a few days we will be the only ones left.’We were all in danger. ”
I was like being bullied right in the
stomach. I wanted to slap Athena; I wanted to bark at her. But I knew, that
wouldn’t help anything, so I controlled myself, and said, “It’s ok. I have an
idea. You have power to see what special ability your friend used in the last
month right? Then check Amy’s. ”
“I’ll do it now.” Athena took out her phone
from her pocket. “Oh no.” Athena turned gray after seeing for a while.
“What’s on the phone?”I asked impatiently.
“Here,” she handed me her phone. I looked
at it, and also turned gray. On it wrote:
Amy had changed her
special power last week with a girl named Astrid------she had killed her. Her
new special power is: she had a invisible protecting cloth. When she wore it
on, nobody’s special will work on her.
“What are we doing next?” Helena asked
helplessly to me, she was used to I being the leader.
“Nothing,” I said and gave a “I hate
you” look to Athena, “we have to make confrontation with Amy.”
