15 A Story of A
Mysterious Game and The Murdering Story 15
Athena took a
big breath and spoke, “When Helena pressed the bottom, it didn’t work as we
planned. Amy didn’t talk about giving me my name card. So I curious why she had
prevent it. And by mistake, I said it out loud. Now she knew I am on your side
and she had find out I gave your name card back to you. And, and Amy said
‘Good, very good. I will never give it back to you. Are you afraid of me
killing you? No, I’m not going to kill you so early. I have enough patience and
I’m going to wait. I’m going to wait till the game only remained you and me.
And them, I will rip your name card in front of you. Yes in front of you. You
are going to taste the flavor of betraying a friend, I hate people doing that.
You’d better be prepared. Maybe in a few days we will be the only ones left.’We
were all in danger. ”
I was like being
bullied right in the stomach. I wanted to slap Athena; I wanted to bark at her.
But I knew, that wouldn’t help anything, so I controlled myself, and said,
“It’s ok. I have an idea. You have power to see what special ability your
friend used in the last month right? Then check Amy’s. ”
“I’ll do it
now.” Athena took out her phone from her pocket. “Oh no.” Athena turned gray
after seeing for a while.
“What’s on the
phone?”I asked impatiently.
“Here,” she
handed me her phone. I looked at it, and also turned gray. On it wrote:
Amy had changed her special power last week with a girl named
Astrid------she had killed her. Her new special power is: she had a invisible
protecting cloth. When she wore it on, nobody’s special will work on her.
“What are we
doing next?” Helena asked helplessly to me, she was used to I being the leader.
“Nothing,” I
said and gave a “I hate you”look to Athena, “we have to make confrontation with
Amy.”
“What kind of
confrontation?”Athena was interested.
I shrugged: “any kinds.”
“Like, hit her in the face?”Helena giggled.
“It was worth a try!”I gave them a smirk.
The atmosphere seemed to relax a little bit
by Helena’s little joke. And I was feeling much better.
“We had to find Amy, Eddy and Helena’s name
cards.”I thought for a minute, and said.
“Sure.”Athena and Helena agreed with me, “We
must win.”
The next day, I went to the fifth floor to
find name cards. In coincidence, Amy was there. It seem like we were really
having a confrontation. I thought.
“Did you find any?”I asked, afraid she was
ahead of me.
“None of your business.”She answered coldly.
Then, it all happened in a second. I saw a
name card. I rushed toward it and grabbed it to see whose it was. And, that
belongs to Eddy.
Amy surely saw
that sight and she shouted angrily, “Give it to me.”
“No, unless you
can get it yourself.” I teased. Amy came, grabbed an angel of the name card and
started pulling. I would never let Amy get this name card of course, so I
pulled back. We just stood there, each of us grabbing one end of the name card.
None of us would give up. Sudden, the name card was torn apart in the middle.
In a moment, we looked at one another, and no words came. But when she realized
what she had done, I saw tears running down from her cheeks. But I don’t pity
her a bit, it serves her right.
“You ugly dirty
b***h! You will never win it. Tonight, I’ll kill Athena. We both killed one
person from the other side. It’s a tie.”Amy was mad, and about to explode. I
had never seen her so, at least not in our 4-year friendship.
My heart sank
immediately. I didn’t like that kind of tie a bit. Now I was full of regret for
killing Eddy. I had to think of a way saving Athena.
“Wait a minute,”
I said, “If you do so, you can get no benefits. How about making an agreement?
”
Amy snickered,
“Making an agreement? How funny? Now you are afraid of me tearing up the name
card? Never. I don’t believe you.”
“Well, let me
tell you something. I have your name card.” I pretended to be mysterious.
I saw a piece of
fear flickering through Amy’s face, but in a second, she remained calm. “You
think I’ll believe you? No way! You are probably lying to me.”
“I’m not lying
to you. I mean maybe we can exchange the name card. I give you yours back to
me. And you give me Helena’s. How about that?”
“You are
kidding, aren’t you? I already have my own name card. ”Amy had on a proud
expression.
My face went
red. Oh god, my lie was so easily torn down. But then I remembered the piece of
fear in her face. And the sentence, “you are probably lying to me”. If she
really had the name card, she wouldn’t say that. Instead she should say, “you
must be lying”. If Amy wasn’t uncertain, why she use “probably”? According to
all that things above, it’s proved that Amy’s lying. She just wanted to just if
I was telling the truth. I can’t be fooled by her.
I quickly cleared my throat to hide my
embarrassment, “You can’t treat me. You said so because you are guilty. Right?
I already got it and there is no way for you to get another one.
Amy snorted, “Humph, Laura, I had to admit,
you are pretty smart. Ok, so I’m in. When would you prefer doing this?”
I thought for a minute. I did not have Amy’s
name card, so it may take me some time make a fake one. “Maybe the day after
tomorrow?”
Amy was a little suspicious, “Why not
tomorrow?”
I felt sweat touring from my forehead, the
atmosphere seemed to risen. I was very hot------is Amy finding out the truth? I
hesitated for a moment and said, “Tomorrow is also ok, if you insist.”
“Then tomorrow it is.”And Amy hurried away.
So I spent the whole night making a fake
name cards. I wrote Amy’s name in the front in my best cursive writings. I must
succeed, I told myself. And I will.
